How many days until Christmas?
The count below shows the days until Christmas, worked out from your device's date each time you open the page, so it is always current.
Christmas Day falls on 25 December every year.
Which Christmas are we counting to?
Most of the world celebrates Christmas Day on 25 December. In Finland, Sweden and much of central Europe the big evening is Christmas Eve, 24 December, so your personal countdown may be one day shorter. Orthodox churches that keep the Julian calendar, including in Russia, Serbia and Ethiopia, celebrate on 7 January.
Keep the countdown on your iPhone
A web page only counts when you open it. To see the days until Christmas every time you pick up your phone, add a countdown widget:
- Install DayCount and pick the Christmas template.
- Add the DayCount widget to your Home Screen. Our countdown widget guide walks through it.
- With DayCount Pro, put a family photo behind the number and follow the last 24 hours in a Live Activity.
The same templates cover New Year, Valentine's Day, Ramadan, Eid, Diwali, birthdays, trips and weddings.
